They say charity begins at home and I adopted a stray dog on 4th November 2006 and named her as Honey. She helped me to grow as a human being in life. She made me realize that stray dogs are nothings less than pure breed dogs.

Approximately 4 million adoptable dogs & cats are killed each year mainly due to overpopulation. 25-30% of dogs for adoption in animal shelters are purebred. The other 70-75%, of course, are lovable, wonderful mixed-breed pets, just waiting for a chance to be your perfect new friend. Many backyard dog breeders and pet stores who supply the majority of purebreds simply are selling inbred pets without care for preventing genetic problems. Mixed breed pets have less inbreeding, generally less inherited genetic disease, and therefore overall lower vet bills. If you have your heart set on a specific breed, before you check out a dog breeder or pet store, why not adopt a pet from a breed rescue organization? Breed rescues are groups that specialize in a particular breed of dog or cat.
I hope that after reading this article whenever you see a pup or a dog with dirty paws you will not shoo it away with disgust but acknowledge it with love. Next time you think of adopting a dog then let it be a stray because it needs it more that anyone else.Let’s make a difference. Robert Frost once said “Love is an irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired”. So Lets spread the message of love and let start adoption as the new way of life...

ReplyDeleteI wish ppl cud bestow benefactions not only on dogs, but on poor children as well. Sometimes animals are treated far better than some humans.
